We were going to walk down and see what this thing was, but we got lazy and went back to our hotel. Which was good cause it pissed down with rain and hail shortly after we got back and then we were like "oh, it's a good thing we didn't go and see that thing, otherwise we'd be stuck in this shit like all those stinky hobo gringos down stairs.

"oh no's, my junk is getting wet... I was distracted whilst chroming in front of my baby and yelling at the feral dogs".

A gringo Kombi.

I don't know what this is, but it looked cool. Everything is in Spanish so we just walk around looking at shit we don't know what is.

A brutal mural in the Museo Nacional.

Museo Nacional, 1873.

A view down Moneda (street) toward the Zocalo and the Catredal Metrapolitana.

The ancient ruins, Templo Mayor. Around the 1640's

A view of the serpent head at the foot of the temple.

Here is one of the most sacred parts of the temple. Human sacrifices were made here and the victim's heart was offered as a Devine food for the sun.

Some statues.

This water duct was built around 1900. The temple was first built in the 1600's and was added to many times by different rulers but this duct was built without knowledge of the temple. They destroyed everything in it's path as the duct cut right throughout the heart of the ruins. The whole site was later uncovered after 1978. They dug up a street or something and were all like "oh shit! There's a f#cking ancient temple down here".

This wall of skulls was made with real human skulls covered in layers of stucco.

Creepy shit.

Look! Jimmy's touching 500 year old structure.

Skull found in the temple site.

More skulls... they liked skulls.

By now we were pretty hungry and we saw this place had a balcony.

We walked down this pathway...

Up these stairs...

Up there...

And BAM! Balcony! Rich ass f#ckers only. We are rich here.

"Si Senoir, Quiero Uno Cerveza. Corona Por Favor".

"F#cking cheers Morty, f#cking Straya!".

Morty had stuffed chipotle chili's w/ a chicken and walnut sauce.

I had this... Um... Something. What was it?

I don't know but it was awesome!

For mains I had a beef medallion with chili and mushroom.

And Morty had a steak on a tortilla with cheese, sauce and cactus. Yep... cactus. It was... well, cactusy... slimy and cactusy.

And these dudes played music for us rich folk. Our meals, beers and gratuity cost us about 550pesos each. So about $50 Australian. It was worth it, the view and the atmosphere was amazing. Also, just to get away from the stench and the feral locals was worth every penny. We were gentlemen for a moment.

As we walked back to our hotel, the great bells of the Catredal Metrapolitana bell tower rang loudly throughout the great court of the Zocalo. We were knackered as the air quality is so poor it makes you feel out of breath and weighs heavily on the lungs. We're here for another day and we fly out to Lima, Peru tomorrow night. Mexico has been interesting but we surely won't miss it.
